Food grade hydrochloric acid? was created by zheng987
Hello everyone, I'm very new to CDS/MMS. I just finished reading the two books written by Jim and Andreas. One thing I think they failed to mention is that the grade of the Hydrochloric Acid you use to mix with Sodium Chlorite. There are technical/industrial grade, lab grade and food grade. Does it matter which grade to use? Of course food grade is much safer to use, but is technical grade also fine to use?

If you are making CDS it may not matter as it is discarded when the shot glass is removed and only the yellow CDS water in the jar is used for drinking. For this reason, I use citric acid as the activator but I would never ingest citric acid otherwise.
For MMS you do ingest both and so I would aim for a food grade version. I think some of the cheaper HCL have traces of titanium dioxide in them. While that may not kill you, I would avoid it.
