bladder irritation was created by hannelore.sander
I just succumbed to an irritation of the bladder again.
My bladder is a problem area for me. It is very weak and I have to go to the bathroom many times during the day and at night.
It also seems to be very sensitive to manipulation. Sex and gynocological exams especially used to be my nemeses but I no longer have sex and my gynocologist has stopped using a speculum for the exams. Even though, I usually get full-blown unexplained bladder infections once or twice a year (the last one of which a few months ago even turned into a severe kidney infection) and I have always been taking antibiotics for these.
This one is not an infection but rather an irritation, I believe. They tend to happen a few times a year also but do not always turn into infections. Irritations seem to be related to what I am eating and I think I got this one from too many oranges or from some spicy Indian food. In addition to the burning and slight temporary incontinence, I usually also feel bloated and constipated during these incidents. It almost seems as though something is pressing down on my bladder and I sometimes wonder if the irritation stems from that. There seems to be some relief after I have a bowel movement. An irritation tends to last from two to four days and then goes away by itself.
Since I will only be starting with the slow baby bottle introduction of MMS, there is not much else I can do right now. It's already a bit better on this second day anyway. I look forward being able to use protocol 1000 once I've built up to it. Just out of curiosity, would I be approaching an irritation and an infection in the same way? I am just trying to educate myself as much as possible.

I make myself up a sports bottle full of 20 drops of MMS activated and filled to the liter mark with water. Then I pour out about 4 oz into a small plant waterer with a long spout, and use that to "wash" after I urinate. I usually start, once I can tell I'm about to start an irritation, with some AZO (OTC pyrethrum, as I recall - I take 4 of the little red tablets) -

My bladder irritation is strongly related to inflammation in my digestive track. (IBS)

Thank you, Pam.
It was interesting for me to read that you do not take MMS by mouth when you feel a bladder irritation coming on. From all that I, as a newcomer, had read, I would definitely have started protocol 1000 had I already worked up to the full dose of it?
Should one also refrain from protocol 1000 if an actual urinary tract infection has been determined? And am I correct than in assuming that it does not heal bladder infections but that rather a course of antibiotics in indicated?
Thank you, too, for the AZO website. I take an over the counter drug called Cystex for urinary pain relief, which my urologist recommended. It is a little red pill also.

Hello Hannelore,
When I have a bladder infection I take d-mannose tablets. Works within one day. And all natural.

No need to refrain from protocol 1000 if you've got a bladder irritation happening - I was just sharing what happens when I treat mine. You may find that azo and your cystex are the same things.
