From Jim's latest book regarding MMS2:

MMS2, calcium hypochlorite, is sometimes known as Pool Shock. It is sold in pool stores and grocery stores throughout the world. As long as it is for swimming pools, manufacturers cannot put bad things in the pools that would hurt swimmers, and thus cannot put harmful things in the calcium hypochlorite.
